Welcome to the game of JavaPong

Welcome to JavaPong. Please note that this is a work in progess, and I am looking for your comments & input. If you don't find it challenging at first, please play until level 5. I find it starts to speed up pretty good then.
Rules, and how to play:
  • This is Pong, written in Java, move your mouse and the blue paddle will follow you.
  • You start out with 3 balls (planets), each time you miss the globe, you lose one.
  • Five points are earned each time you hit the ball, and your opponent earns five points each time it (the computer) hits.
  • Ten points are awarded each time your opponent misses the globe.
  • Each time one of you hits the globe, the volley counter increases. Every 5 volleys, the level increases. There are twenty levels.
  • After the applet has loaded, click the mouse button to begin play.
  • While playing, double clicking the mouse button will pause the game. Double clicking again will resume play.
