Christmas Light Finder

Driving around to look at Christmas lights is a good tradition with a bad information problem. The spectacular house two streets over is invisible unless somebody tells you about it.

So the app is a shared map. When you find a display worth remembering, you tap the target and it saves where you're standing — no forms, no photos, no account. Switch to Search and you get everyone else's pins on a map you can drive by.

Displays don't last, so the database is keyed by year. You can pull up previous seasons to see which houses do it every time, but the default view is only what's up right now.

It is free and ad-supported, and it is the oldest codebase I still ship — straight Objective-C and UIKit, talking to a small PHP service.
